Today I began with the idea of mimicking architecture using paper. Tried arranging various sheets and stacks of paper without much success.
Concepts in the mind when put to drawing have a totally different dimension and here I was trying play with thoughts and paper… cutting the long story short in the interest of time I had to dig into the world wide web for references. Found some amazing stuff, but turned out those were quite challenging when it came to executions.
Eventually settled for this pop up art which kinda mimics architecture. You will find the YouTube video on how to create this at the end of the post.
One quick thing I realised as I set out to photograph this, I needed more than one light to create the drama that was required to make it look like architecture. Having gone well past my dinner time and spent more than the hour I intend to give for this challenge. I decided I will stick to the single light source and achieve what best I can. Do let me know what you think. 🙂
Shot using a single light source for illumination, with a Nikon 50mm lens and my trusted Nikon D850. Here are the images.
The below video came in as a handy reference point in create the pop art. A big shout-out to ‘make and learn‘ for making this video and the many more they have on their channel, do pay them a visit. 🙂
Amazing new idea. It’s a good exercise for photography lovers to try. I will try as well. Thanks for this post.
Thank you, Seema. Do try and share the results 🙂
Thank you!!
